The Greenhouse of Walled Lake is stepping up to help again.

With March being Multiple Sclerosis (MS) awareness month, the they will be giving out free Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) units.

It’s all part of a collaborative effort with Mitten Canna and RISE to raise awareness around MS and help build knowledge about Rick Simpson Oil.

Patients already utilizing RSO, or those interested in trying it, will have access to a free 1g RSO syringe, courtesy of RISE and Mitten Canna and while supplies last.

What Is Rick Simpson Oil?

Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) is made from the flowers of the cannabis plant. It’s most widely known for its anecdotal evidence that it is effective in treating cancer. Not enough solid research has been done to back this though.

RSO is produced by washing cannabis buds with a solvent and then boiling it off to leave the oil. It’s not a branded product and its developer, Rick Simpson, doesn’t sell a version of the oil for profit. He merely explains how to make his namesake oil on his website.

While cannabis oils often include CBD oil, RSO is very heavy in tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). As such, RSO can help control nausea and vomiting for people who are going through chemotherapy. There’s also some evidence that it can treat pain and improve appetite – issues that plague those with a variety of conditions.

RSO can be found at cannabis dispensaries in states that have legalized marijuana for either personal or medical use.

Is Everybody Eligible?

The free RSO program is open to medical patients and recreational customers in Michigan. And though this is MS Awareness month, patients using RSO for other health challenges, or those interested in using it for a other benefits are also eligible.

The Greenhouse will have 500 free RSO units available, with a limit of one per customer. The promotion begins Friday, March 18th and runs while supplies last.

So don’t delay. If you live with MS and the myriad symptoms associated with it, the power and potency of RSO could be a game changer for you. It could also provide relief for a wide variety of other ailments.

Swing on by the Greenhouse

To get your free 1g Rick Simpson Oil syringe, courtesy of RISE and Mitten Canna, head on over to the Greenhouse of Walled Lake.

They’re located at 103 E Walled Lake Dr. and are open everyday from 9am to 9pm. But remember, this offer begins on Friday, March 18th, and will only run as long as supplies last. See you there.

Did you know that the Greenhouse of Walled Lake is Oakland County’s first fully licensed medical and recreational marijuana dispensary? They’re experts in ensuring that customers and patients receive the utmost guidance when it comes to selecting the right products.

Above and beyond that amazing distinction, owner Jerry Millen has always placed a premium on giving back to the community. As such, a visit to the dispensary means you’re bound to encounter an example of this. Especially over the next many weekends.

That’s because for the second year in a row, the Greenhouse and the Girl Scouts are teaming up.

The Greenhouse and the Girl Scouts – Classic Combo

If you went by the dispensary this past weekend and saw more green than usual, it was just the Girl Scouts selling cookies. And no, you weren’t imagining things. You may have even been expecting it.

Last year, when an entrepreneurial troop decided the Greenhouse would be the perfect place to peddle their delicious treats, Millen couldn’t have agreed more. So he made it happen.

When the troop sold over 1,000 boxes, it inspired other troops to ask Millen for permission to do the same. And a new tradition began.

“I have daughters of my own and I know the importance of this yearly event and how much the public looks forward to enjoying the one-of-a-kind Thin Mint, Peanut Butter, and many other cookies,” said Millen.

Carrying on the Tradition

If you didn’t make it in this past weekend, no worries. Numerous Oakland County Girl Scout troops are scheduled to sell their sweet treats each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all the way through April 24th! These opportunities are a true godsend for the Girl Scouts who also do so much to give back to the community with the funds they raise from their cookies sales.

And you can expect to find Millen there graciously assisting the troops in setting up their cookie stands. The Girl Scouts will be selling their legendary cookies from 4pm-7pm on Fridays, 1pm-5pm on Saturdays and 11am until dark (time will extend later each week) on Sundays.

“We need others like Greenhouse of Walled Lake to allow us to sell our cookies in this fun and supportive atmosphere,” said one local Girl Scout troop leader. And Girl Scout troops can still reserve their spot by visiting greenhousemi.com/girlscouts.

The Greenhouse is located at 103 East Walled Lake Drive in Walled Lake, Michigan. They are open everyday from 9am to 9pm.

We Raise a Glass (of Milk) for the Greenhouse

As cannabis marketing experts, we know it’s crucial that cannabis businesses give back.

The Greenhouse’s focus on community over the past three years has been beyond commendable. It’s what this industry is all about. And we applaud them.

The Greenhouse of Walled Lake has always been at the forefront of helping folks. Their Pot for Plasma program is just the next chapter.

From raising money for veterans, restoring local landmarks, and donating gifts to families to provide a brighter holiday, to encouraging vaccination through a “Pot for Shots” program, the Greenhouse is a pivotal part of the community.

As the first fully licensed medical and recreational marijuana dispensary in the area, they’ve never strived to go corporate but kept their focus on keeping it local. Now they’re looking to save lives.

State and Country Experiencing Blood Shortage

The state of Michigan and the United States at large are experiencing the worst blood and plasma shortage in more than 10 years. The American Red Cross and the Michigan Association of Blood Banks have been pleading for help and asking people to donate blood and plasma.

When Greenhouse owner and founder Jerry Millen was made aware of this, he decided to sweeten the deal for anyone who plans to give blood and/or plasma. Borrowing from their “Pot for Shots” promotion where they gave away more than 30,000 pre-rolls to anyone who showed proof of COVID vaccination, they’ve now developed “Pot for Plasma.”

So beginning on Tuesday, January 18th, the Greenhouse of Walled Lake in collaboration with UBaked Cannabis Edibles of Burton will give free pre-rolled joints to those over 21 who come in with proof that they have donated blood or plasma. This could be a sticker, a band aid on your arm, whatever.

And there’s absolutely no purchase necessary.

Pot for Plasma Efforts Could Save Lives

“Our state and our country continue to be in crisis, and we are asking people to go out and donate their blood or plasma at a convenient site. Their generous donations may allow someone to have a surgery or even save their life,” says Millen. “Pot for Plasma is our way of rewarding our old customers and new customers alike for giving back to the community. In fact, I will be donating my blood and plasma as well.”

What’s good for the goose is always good for the gander. So get out there, donate blood, then come on by the Greenhouse at 103 East Walled Lake Drive in Walled Lake, Michigan starting on Tuesday to pick up your free pre-rolled joint. We’ll see you there!

Stay Current on the Latest Cannabis Happenings

We’re always in awe of the Greenhouse’s continued commitment to the community through programs like Pot for Plasma. That’s why we report it here.

As cannabis marketing experts who have also been in the business for a long time, we are always in the know on of all the latest happenings in the cannabis industry.

It looks like both the Greenhouse of Walled Lake, Michigan, and UBaked Edibles in Burton, Michigan, are at it again. And by “it,” we mean MORE good things.

The two companies are joining forces this year for a Veteran’s Day fundraiser. So while Veteran’s Day isn’t until November 11th, you can celebrate veterans with Greenhouse and UBaked starting this Friday with a special offer.

And as if that weren’t enough, Jerry Millen of the Greenhouse of Walled Lake is also offering veterans a unique opportunity. More on that in a little bit…

Celebrate Veterans with Greenhouse and UBaked Fundraiser

And enjoy some chocolate!

Starting this Friday, November 5th, the Greenhouse of Walled Lake and UBaked Edibles are selling 1,000 chocolate bars for only $10.00 per bar. Of course, this is only for as long as supplies last, so you won’t want to hesitate.

Each chocolate bar is donned in patriotic packaging that’ll get you feeling good about your country and especially those who serve it just in time for Veteran’s Day.

Through this promotion, Greenhouse of Walled Lake and Ubaked Edibles are committed to donating at least $10,000 to causes that benefit veterans. Half of the proceeds will go to Veterans Coming Home Charity in Roseville, Michigan. You may have heard of it, as it’s a favorite charity of Big Jim on the WCSX morning show.

The other $5,000 will go to five individual veterans (chosen based on need) in the form of $1,000 each.

As Greenhouse of Walled Lake owner Jerry Millen says, “We can never do enough for our brave men and women who have put their lives at risk so we can keep our freedom.” And it’s for this reason that Millen is also hiring only veterans as drivers for his new home delivery service.

Helping Veterans Stay Viable

Veterans – particularly those who were in combat – can find it challenging to return to everyday life. Along with the possibility of having to deal with depression and PTSD, many experience trouble reconnecting with family and managing survivor’s guilt. This can make it difficult to establish a sense of purpose again.

To help veterans who may be experiencing this lack of purpose, the Greenhouse of Walled Lake is NOW seeking twelve veterans (both male and female) who want to drive for their new delivery program which starts November 9th. Drivers can earn up to $50,000 per year and delivery cars cars and gas are courtesy of Greenhouse of Walled Lake. And absolutely no knowledge of the cannabis industry is necessary.

Applicants with a valid Michigan driver’s license and good driving record can send emails or resumes by clicking here.

Get in the Spirit This November 11th

Celebrate veterans with Greenhouse and Ubaked this year! While you’re helping yourself to chocolate, you’ll also be helping vets who need a little extra this time of year.

So be sure to swing into the Greenhouse of Walled Lake to take advantage of this great offer while supplies last.

Maybe you already know that the Greenhouse of Walled Lake was Oakland County’s first fully licensed Medical and Recreational Marijuana Dispensary.

So that makes them unique.

And while many dispensaries strive to give back, Greenhouse’s continued commitment to the community is truly outstanding.

A Reminder to Never Forget

Most recently, Jerry Millen, owner of the Greenhouse, sponsored an event that culminated in nearly 100 cyclists from Detroit visiting an Underground Railroad home in Walled Lake that Millen had a key role in restoring. And tens of thousands of dollars were provided by supporters to bring the home back to its original pristine condition.

Not only were the cyclists treated to cider, donuts and other refreshments this past Sunday, but knowledgeable experts were on hand to educate visitors about the Underground Railroad. There was also a 10-minute video that highlighted what the house meant to the Underground Railroad movement.

But the giving back doesn’t stop there.

Greenhouse’s Continued Commitment to the Community

As the premier dispensary in Oakland county, the Greenhouse prides itself on ensuring that customers and patients receive qualified counseling and guidance when it comes to selecting the right products for them whether for a health condition, relaxation or just plain fun.

But Millen and his crew know the importance of giving back to the community. And though giving back a battle cry throughout the whole cannabis industry, the Greenhouse always takes it to the next level.

The holidays are never a dull affair at the Greenhouse. “We love our families who live in the area and patronize us,” says Millen. “And I love giving back to the community and spreading a little bit of holiday joy.”

Free Pumpkins!

As such, this Tuesday, October 12th, the Greenhouse, in cooperation with UBaked Edibles in Burton, Michigan, will be giving away 1,500 pumpkins. Just because!

From noon until 9pm (while supplies last, that is) ANYONE can come the Greenhouse and get a free pumpkin. And these are the real deal. None of those miniature dwarf pumpkins. These are basketball sized. There’s no age minimum.

The only restriction is one pumpkin per visitor. Which is fair. After all, it’s all about giving to the community and not just two or three people who want a hundred pumpkins in their yard.

So come on by the Greenhouse at 103 East Walled Lake Drive in Walled Lake, Michigan on Tuesday and pick up your FREE pumpkin. We’ll see you there!

Stay Current on the Latest Cannabis Happenings

We’re continually proud of and humbled by Greenhouse’s continued commitment to the community. That’s why we report it here.

As cannabis marketing experts who have also been in the business for a long time, we have our finger on the pulse of all the latest happenings in the cannabis industry.

Is it really possible that Mother’s Day is upon us again?

With this past year being a foggy blur, it’s often difficult to remember what day it is – let alone what month. But yes, Mother’s Day is coming.

Given the madness of the past year, you may not remember last year’s Mother’s Day Marijuana Quarantine Kit from the Greenhouse in Walled Lake. Or maybe you knew nothing about it.

Whatever the case, you have a chance to make THIS year really special with a unique Mother’s Day cannabis gift basket from the Greenhouse.

Ditch the Old School Mother’s Day Gifts

Okay. Sure. Some moms may be cool with perfume, flowers, candy, and chocolate. But why not up the ante?

Greenhouse of Walled Lake owner, Jerry Millen puts it best when he says, “Why not pamper our moms after all they’ve done for us? Traditional Mother’s Day items are out. Cannabis items are in.”

Really.

Your mom might get more out of Dream Caramels and Covert Cup S’mores than a bag of Werther’s. And give her flowers in a whole new way by offering up some cannabis pre-rolls and a MOM rolling tray. Finally forget the perfume and opt out for a shower steamer and body scrub.

This is just part of what you’ll find in a Mother’s Day gift basket from the Greenhouse.

There are also orange Creamsicle Bars from UBaked Cannabis in Burton, as well as super mom type gifts such as a MOM picture frame, a candle holder, and a limited edition wood pre-roll holder. (Okay, that last one may not be a traditional mom gift, but work with us here.)

There’s even a Godiva Chocolate Bar, because straight-up chocolate is still killer. Especially when given in tandem with so many other great cannabis gifts.

How to Get This Unique Mother’s Day Cannabis Gift Basket

Are you thinking your mom (or other mom-like figure in your life) would love this unique Mother’s Day cannabis gift basket, you can ordered one by visiting greenhousemi.com or by calling 248-956-6181.

Legal cannabis sales topped $12 billion last year. And they’re expected to top $30 billion annually within the next four years.

That’s certainly nothing to sneeze at.

Given marijuana’s wild popularity, it seems folks would be champing at the bit to work in the industry. So why is the Greenhouse offering bounty to new hires?

What’s Going on Here?

When owner Jerry Millen opened the dispensary doors to the Greenhouse of Walled Lake, he never dreamed he’d have challenges attracting and hiring new employees for his dispensary.

And like most of us, he also never imagined the country would face a pandemic.

Part of the issue is that cannabis businesses were placed in the category of essential businesses during the challenging year of 2020. That meant that unlike other industries that faced closing down, they were able to stay open and operational.

In addition, the stress around the pandemic drove up marijuana sales for those seeking some relief from what was being dubbed “the new normal.”

Companies like the Greenhouse that were in strong financial shape heading into the pandemic found themselves scrambling to hire additional workers in response to this robust demand for products.

Sounds Like the Perfect Situation, Right?

Nothing is perfect though.

While it was a blessing to be able to stay open while other businesses were going under, there were unique challenges that came with operating in the midst of a pandemic.

One was the fear of transmitting or spreading the potentially deadly virus. During the darkest days of the pandemic, provisioning centers were offering only curbside and delivery to keep people safe. Yet, many people were cautious to remain in their “social pods” and didn’t venture from them.

The second challenge was the ability of workers to collect unemployment. Again, while this has been a godsend for many who were and are trying to pay their bills, it has made it a challenge for businesses such as the Greenhouse who need able bodies back on the premises.

As jobless claims are on the increase, finding qualified workers continues to be a challenge. And Millen needs 20 qualified men and women into his store ASAP.

So Millen has come up with a solution.

Greenhouse Offering Bounty to New Hires

The preponderance of circumstances has left Millen’s stock rooms overflowing with product and not nearly enough employees to handle it.

So he is offering to pay a bounty of one ounce of cannabis (valued at $500) to new budtenders and other employees hired in the next 60 days.

This is on top of a competitive hourly wage.

“We need men and women who want to work in a great environment and be a part of one of Michigan’s fastest growing industries,” says Millen. “The Greenhouse of Walled Lake provides a great wage and an outstanding, fun work atmosphere. That’s why I am willing to pay this bounty to get the best people possible.”

How’s that for incentive?

Think You Might Be a Good Fit for the Greenhouse?

With the Greenhouse offering bounty to new hires, this could be the perfect time to get in (or BACK in) to the cannabis industry.

The Greenhouse of Walled Lake was Oakland County’s first fully licensed medical and recreational marijuana dispensary.

The Greenhouse’s focus on community has always been a driving force for owner Jerry Millen. And he and his staff are dedicated to ensuring that customers and patients receive the utmost guidance when it comes to selecting the right products for them whether for a health condition, relaxation, or just plain fun.

To celebrate their two year anniversary last weekend, Millen brought on hockey great and former Detroit Red Wings star-turned-cannabis entrepreneur, Darren McCarty as a guest bud tender.

And it created some serious buzz.

Community Event Was a Huge Success

To uplift the community and bring some lightness to this otherwise heavy time, McCarty was on hand from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25 to sign autographs and promote his line of Darren McCarty “Pucker Up” pre-rolls.

Having credited cannabis with helping him overcome his struggles with alcoholism, McCarty entered the cannabis industry last year when he decided to partner with Michigan cannabis company Pincanna.

McCarty’s passion for cannabis and his celebrity status brought over 1000 people to the event – socially distanced, of course.

Millen couldn’t have been happier with the turnout and with getting to work with McCarty. “Honestly, one of the greatest guys in both the sports world and the cannabis industry!” said Millen. “He was so great and gracious to everybody who showed up to meet him.”

He also expressed gratitude for the patients and customers who have supported the Greenhouse over the past past two years. “We are grateful for you all!” he said.

Greenhouse’s Focus on Community Draws Girl Scouts

It may seem an unlikely duo, but if you wandered past the dispensary and saw Girl Scouts selling cookies out front this past weekend, you weren’t imagining things. An entrepreneurial troop decided it would be the perfect place to peddle their delicious treats.

“One of their mothers reached out to me last week and asked if they could do it and I said absolutely yes. This just shows you how far cannabis has come. Two years ago, the Girl Scouts would not let a Girl Scout troop stand outside of the store and sell their cookies,” said Millen.

When the young ladies and their mothers sold over 1,000 boxes, it inspired other troops to ask Millen for permission to do the same. Thus, this weekend, March 6th and 7th, Girl Scout cookie sales will resume.

“We need more spots like Greenhouse of Walled Lake who are allowing our girls to sell their cookies during this challenging and difficult time,” said one of the troop leaders.

Millen was only too happy to oblige.

“I have daughters of my own and I know how important this is to the girls and how much the public looks forward to enjoying the delectable mint, peanut butter, and other cookies.”

Let’s all raise a glass.. of milk.

We Applaud the Greenhouse’s Focus on Community

As cannabis marketing experts, we are always impressed when we encounter cannabis businesses that know the importance of giving back.

The Greenhouse’s focus on community over the past two years has been more than commendable. It’s what this industry is all about.

We are happy to congratulate the Greenhouse on their two-year anniversary!

At Grow Cannabis Marketing, we believe in the importance of giving back. So we love to highlight folks in the cannabis community who are making a difference.

Jerry Millen, founder and owner of the Greenhouse of Walled Lake, is one of those folks. And if you’re a regular visitor to our blog, you probably already know all about him.

Millen is an exemplary example of what it means to give back. He regularly sponsors events that support communities in need – including giving away turkeys at Thanksgiving and pulling together with other community leaders to raise $10,000 for presents for less fortunate families over the holidays.

His most recent endeavor is simply called Pot for Shots.

What Is Pot for Shots?

We know the stance on vaccinations right now is all over the charts.

Some people don’t believe in vaccines, while others are still on the fence. We get that. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Millen is a believer in the vaccine though. And as an incentive to encourage as many people as possible to get one, he has collaborated with Ubaked Cannabis Company in Burton, Michigan, to announce their newest promotion.

The “Pot for Shots” COVID-19 vaccination promotion will begin Friday January 22nd, and run all the way through Sunday, February 28th. It’s Millen’s way of recognizing those who have opted to receive the vaccine to help fight back against this deadly virus.

How the Promotion Works

It really couldn’t be any simpler.

“Our goal is to raise awareness of the importance of getting the COVID-19 vaccination as we as a community battle this horrible pandemic,” says Millen. “Pot for Shots is our way of showing our commitment in assisting the community get back to normality.”

Here’s how it works.

Once the distribution of the vaccine no longer resembles a carnival freak show and you’re able to get a shot, head on over to the Greenhouse with written proof that you received a Covid-19 vaccine.

At that point, you will be handed a FREE pre-rolled joint. That’s it. You’re done. You don’t even have to buy anything! Of course, with such a huge array of amazing product, you may want to.

Whatever the case, if you’re leaning toward getting the vaccine but haven’t quite committed, this could be just the push you need. As Millen says, “We hope this is the beginning of the end of this insidious pandemic.”

We’ll raise a glass to that.
