Since recreational marijuana was legalized, the cannabis industry has been a bit of a mess.

And by bit of a mess, we mean something more akin to “in complete shambles.”

There hasn’t been a cohesive voice repping the state’s legal cannabis industry.

That’s the reason for the launch of the Michigan Cannabis Industry Association.

The Michigan Cannabis Industry Association Will Be That Voice

Leaders in this emerging industry will join together to announce the creation of the MCIA on Tuesday, January 15th, at the Michigan State Capitol in Lansing.

(If you want to check it out, head on over to room 402-403.)

Cannabis industry business leaders from across the state will be there to unveil the association’s new team that will tirelessly advocate for the sustainable growth and development of the industry.

Think of them as cannabis industry superheroes.

Who Will the Announcement Include?

Without being too much of spoiler, we can tell you that Robin Schneider, the Executive Director of the Michigan Cannabis Industry Association and former finance director for the Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol / Yes on Proposal 1 campaign, will be there.

So too will Communications Director for the Michigan Cannabis Industry Association and former spokesperson and communications director for the Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol / Yes on Proposal 1 campaign, Josh Hovey.

Senator Jeff Irwin (D-Ann Arbor) will also be present. There will also be a gaggle of Michigan cannabis growers, processors, testing labs, transportation companies and retail establishments.

And finally, expect to see some medical marijuana pediatric patients – who are truly heroes.

Support the MCIA

This new trade association will be crucial in facing the challenges that exist with the current medical marijuana business licensing process.

And as rules and regulations for adult use marijuana businesses continue to develop and evolve, the Michigan Cannabis Industry Association will be there every step of the way.
