The Department of Regulatory and Licensing Affairs and the Bureau of Medical Marihuana is presenting a medical marijuana education session on March 26 at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing. Aileen Wingblad of The Morning Sun said the session will take place from 8 a.m. to noon and will be held for medical marijuana license applicants and prospective applications throughout Michigan. She said for those who can’t attend the event, it will also be streamed live online at www.michigan.gov/medicalmarihuana.

Wingblad said the program is designed to provide information on regulatory framework for the medical marijuana industry. She said multiple professionals will be giving presentations including, Bureau of Construction Codes Keith Lambert discussing how to design and construct medical marihuana facilities, consultant with Michigan Occupation Safety and Health Greg Kozak presenting an overview of the MIOCHA standards and regulations that impact the cannabis industry, Michigan Department of Treasury Departmental Analyst Brandi Branson-Boone assisting in the navigation of the Treasury’s web services portal and more.

Wingblad reports, “There’s no cost to attend, but advance registration is required due to space constraints.” The Kellogg Conference Center is located at 219 South Harrison Rd and attendee’s identification will be checked at the door. To guarantee entrance, interested parties must register by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 9 at www.metrc.com/michigan.
